As a Texas-based, independent wholesale MGA, we underwrite and place nearly all lines of business - not limited to: property, casualty, professional, transportation, energy, environmental, and personal lines. All of our accounting, processing, and underwriting are handled locally in Conroe, TX so you can be assured that your accounts will be serviced in a timely and professional manner. Our underwriters and staff members work diligently with our contracted agents who share our commitment to integrity, hard work, and success.

Our History
Lyle Ashley and Billie Gorrell Co-founded Ashley General Agency in 2010, after spending more than 35 years in the Surplus Lines Wholesale Industry serving as President and Founder of Surplus Inc. He wrote the first policy for AGA on June 14, 2010, with five employees and five contract carriers. Lyle Ashley passed away in January of 2014 and his daughter, Billie Gorrell, is now President/CEO. Today, Lyle’s legacy has grown to over 25 employees and over $30 mm in GWP.
Lyle believed in conducting business with the uppermost moral and ethical standards, while putting the clients’ needs first. Our team devotes their time daily to uphold Lyle’s legacy and vision with the highest respect. We are dedicated to professionalism, technical expertise, and creating valuable relationships with our carriers and agents.
